Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where does the funds raised go to?
All funds raised through Trek4Vets are donated to Mates4Mates.
Mates4Mates supports current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who have physical or psychological injuries as a result of their service, and their families. Please visit their website for more information. https://mates4mates .org/
2. How do you raise funds for Mates4Mates?
We charge $50 a ticket to participate in Trek4Vets. After the cost for your shirt and insurance is deducted we donate the remainder to the charity we are supporting. We also sell merchandise at a profit so a donation can be made after costs are covered and have included a margine on the bus ticket for the same purpose.

It is compulsory to bring a head torch/flashlight, enclosed footwear that is suitable for hiking and long distance, weather proof jacket and appropriate clothing, snacks, minimum 2ltrs water, and a mobile device.

7. I do not regularly train, can I still participate?
Yes! It is extremely beneficial for individuals to prepare themselves by walking 3-4 times a week and build it up. Don’t push yourself too early on the evening. This is an endurance walk, not a race. Please speak with your Doctor/Health professional if you have any doubts. There is further information regarding the trek on the ‘DETAILS’ page of this website

Unfortunately no, this walk is through the Bouddi National Park.
9. Can I bring friends or family to register on the night?
Yes! Register online and please attend but be aware this will risk the chance of not receiving a t-shirt in your preferred size
10. Can the event be cancelled?
If the event organisers deem the evening to unsafe due to unexpected weather conditions we may find an alternative route. Only an Extreme Weather event will mean the organisers will cancel the event. Organisers also reserve the right to cancel the event for any other reason which may include but is not limited to terrorism or war. If the event is cancelled, re-routed or shortened, no refund of registration fees, fundraising monies or transfer to another event will be made.
11. What if i injure myself alone the trek?
Trek4Vets is supported by St John Ambulance who will be travelling in close proximity to the group via road in a support vehicle. If required they are available for medical assistance as well a lift if you need a break from the trek.
