Trek4vets is a non profit organisation with the mission to raise funds by testing one’s own limits. The midnight to dawn trek is about remembrance, reflection and community as we give thanks to all those who have served and sacrificed. We aim to promote suicide awareness and prevention as well as assist serving and
returned veterans and their families by supporting Mates4Mates.

Marching as one group to remember and pay our respects to all who have served and to the soldiers who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice. We march through the night from Putty Beach to Terrigal Beach arriving in time for the Dawn Service on ANZAC Day.

The trek is designed to help make ANZAC day more significant for each individual involved and to show gratitude by sacrificing some sleep and comfort before attending the dawn service.

Dean and Andrew aim to eventually have groups marching in multiple locations around our country to help raise money to support our returning vets and families of the fallen.

Dean and Andrew represented Trek4Vets and traversed the 96km Kokoda Track with 40kg pac ks in 2015. Alongside many individuals who were with the Walking Wounded charity. They not only learnt of the rich history from WWII, but we also got to support and hear everyone’s story who lost someone in either the Iraq or Afghanistan war.

The entire process was the start of self healing for so many. It was a tribute to the husbands, sons, brothers and dads lost in war.

After this life changing experience, Dean and Andrew hope to make a difference in many lives by involving everyone in their community as well as around Australia on every Anzac Day by raising funds through Trek4Vets.

All funds raised through Trek4Vets will be donated to Mates4Mates.
