Subject to change closer to event depending on weather/participant numbers

  • Length: approx 18 -20km
  • Time: 4 to 5 hrs
  • Terrain: Bush tracks, stairs, steep uneven terrain, single file sections, road crossings/sections.
  • Pace: Brisk walk.
  • Fitness Level: A moderate level of fitness is required to complete this trek.
  • Experience: You do not need to have previous hiking experience to join in.
  • Expectations: This WILL be difficult but incredibly rewarding. Walking for 4-5 hours, during a time when you’re normally asleep is more challenging than doing the same during the day. Nonetheless we move with purpose. Some portions of the track are only lit by your head torch. It will be cold when we stop but you will warm up when we are moving. Please use layers appropriately. Shops will not be open along the way, so remember your hydration and snacks. We will be stopping 2-3 times for toilet breaks and to refuel our bodies. This will be a challenging and memorable experience.
  • BUS DEPARTS 11:00PM SHARP TO TRANSPORT PARTICIPANTS TO PUTTY BEACH CAR PARK – TREK START POINT.

It is COMPULSORY to bring a head torch/flashlight, enclosed footwear that’s suitable for hiking the distance, weather proof jacket, snacks, minimum 2L of water and a mobile device.

Some participants will decide to challenge themselves further by trekking with weighted packs and vests, webbing and/or carry torsion bars. We strongly encourage you to read our “Fitness Considerations” section to gain insight if this is an appropriate decision for yourself.

Trek4Vets advise all participants not to drive post the trek and to arrange alternative transport home.

Thank you for your support.
